Richard L. Summers was 13 years old when he recognized his need for the Lord Jesus Christ. Behind a piano his Youth Leader led him in prayer and he accepted Jesus' free gift of salvation. At 16 years of age he surrendered to Jesus Christ and started to preach the Gospel. After high school, he studied at Baptist Bible College in Springfield , Mo. While attending school, he met Kathy, his wife of 36 years, and together they followed the Lord in several ministries including Youth/Song leader, and they also started a church. In 1976 they were called to Shiprock , NM to be missionaries to the Navajo Indians. They served there for one year when the Lord moved them to a Church in Ahloso , OK where Pastor Rick served for 5 years. The Lord moved them again to Springhill , KS to Pastor at the Ocheltree Baptist Church . After ten years in Springhill, the Lord gave Rick a burden to start a new church. The Church was originally located in Stanley , KS but the congregation eventually was moved to Louisburg , KS .
Pastor Rick, is the Senior pastor at the
Louisburg Baptist Temple , which was started May 2, 1995 .
He and Kathy have three daughters and one son. All their
children are married and actively serving in their churches.
Rick and Kathy were recently honored by being able to add
the title “Grandparents” to their resume. They have been
blessed with the addition of four grandsons and a
granddaughter. Rick and Kathy live in Louisburg , KS ,
where Rick pastors the church on a full-time basis and Kathy
is a full-time Grandmother
